Use waste heat in incinerator in Terst to heat water, produce steam and mainly to produce electricity

Acegas Aps is an investor of this project in Terst(Italy)
Since 2003 the heat generated during waste incineration is further utilized by means of a water jacket in a combustion chamber, a steam-steam heat exchanger and a turbo condensing unit. Maximum power of this solution is 14.9 MW and the use is year-round. The waste heat in the form of overheated steam (370-850 °C) is used to heat water, produce steam and mainly to produce electricity. Output of the process are 141,000 Nm3/h fumes (120-180 °C) of SOx, NOx, CO2.
